Neighborhood of Play
Neighborhood of Play—a world-class destination that is an inclusive, connecting, fun, walkable, green place to live, work, play, and learn.
Proposed Master Site Plan
A development proposal presented to the City of Rochester, New York, for Inner Loop development.
A new museum wing will connect The Strong National Museum of Play to a new, multi-faceted entertainment destination featuring The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame®. A new dedicated road, Adventure Street, will connect Woodbury Boulevard to Union Street. Built at pedestrian scale the street will promote activity, interaction, and fun in ways that complement and build upon The Strong National Museum of Play.
Hotel, Housing, and Retail
A premier national brand hotel will preside at the corner of Union and Adventure streets providing convenient access to The Strong National Museum of Play, downtown Rochester, the Finger Lakes region, and area companies. A new residential apartment community and dynamic retail spaces with active ground-floor uses will emerge on Union and Adventure Streets. All will incorporate innovative street amenities with traditional neighborhood design features.
A new parking structure, built between the museum and the hotel, is projected to accommodate 1,200 cars. The structure will be part of the museum experience and reinforce the connection of the neighborhood to the identity of the museum. Street-level parking will be available for the Neighborhood of Play residents.
